CWRT ZOOM IN THE ROOM

ZOOM IN THE ROOM SURVEY ANALYSIS

Coming out of the pandemic, many CWRTs that experienced an increase in the number of members while on zoom elected to continue to use that technology while resuming in-person meetings. CWRT Congress was very interested in finding out more.

Proven Practices

  • There are many factors that come into play when instituting a significant change such as using zoom. But for those CWRTs with the means and a fearless attitude, this is a useful tool.

  • Inasmuch as the CWRT Congress tagline is Improvement through education and networking, we are especially gratified that fourteen (14) CWRT respondents are willing to assist those that desire mentoring.

  • For CWRTs that are using zoom, simplicity is the key. Using an uncomplicated equipment array with the fewest moving parts is best when starting out.

  • Involving several CWRT members in equipment setup is desirable.

  • Documenting the equipment setup sequence and testing it is important.

  • Practice broadcasting will likely result in greater levels of confidence as well as viewer satisfaction.

  • Although varying the camera view between speaker, PowerPoint and the in-person attendees is great for the remote audience, for those CWRTs at the beginning of the learning curve it may not be desirable.
